The members of the Holman Autry Band grew up in the same county in Georgia, all went to and graduated from the same high school, and yet none of them ever imagined that they would be knowing each other better, or would be starting a Band together! But then, when it all started coming together as they each found their individual love for music, a couple of the guys started jamming together. Which led to another joining in to jam with the guys, and then another, until it reached a six-person Band who saw potential in each other’s talents. Did I mention, they are all self-taught musicians. So, then the jamming turned into practicing to hopefully perform. These guys relentlessly practiced and wow, they did get to start performing live events in 2006. And they were good! So, as they were performing, many fans and friends said “this is truly Southern Rock, Real Music, and some called it Black Label Country”.

Proudly hailing from the musically rich foothills of Cleveland County (Shelby, NC), Dirty Grass Soul has been entertaining audiences across the Carolinas and beyond since their formation in 2011. With a sound that draws much influence from traditional music of the North Carolina foothills, Dirty Grass Soul manages to bring a new, refreshed, and re-energized sound to their music that falls somewhere between country, bluegrass, and southern rock & roll reminiscent of acts like The Charlie Daniels Band and The Marshall Tucker Band. Rather than simply relying on heavy guitar leads, Dirty Grass Soul offers instrumentation that mixes in a heavy dose of fiddle, pedal steel guitar, and banjo in addition to the guitar. DGS is lead by founding members Kevin Dedmon (Fiddle, Vocals, Guitar) and Lance Watson (Bass, Mandolin). They are joined by Tyler Melton (Vocals, Lead Guitar),Dedmon's brother Kris Dedmon (Banjo), Glenn Miller (Pedal Steel Guitar), and Jared Miller (Vocals & Percussion).

After touring the Carolina's behind a self-released demo album "Movin' On", as well as shows with the likes of many of the southeast's premier bands under their belt, Dirty Grass Soul has earned a reputation as one of the southeast's emerging Southern Rock/Alt. Country bands. Their much anticipated 2016 release of The Long Way, recorded it it's entirety at the legendary Plum Hollow Farm, is set to be their best yet!

Whether it is the hint of bluegrass, outlaw country, or rock & roll you hear in each song, their sound is uniquely Dirty Grass Soul. From Dedmon's down home/working class lyrics to the blazing instrumental breaks, Dirty Grass Soul is sure to offer a little something for everyone. If it sounds like Sean K. Preston sings about hard luck, lost love, long journeys, dark secrets, damnation and redemption like he's lived through them...it's because he damn well has.

It's Blues- Punk -Country, Rock'n'Roll....Amen

Sean K. Preston was born in Australia in the isolated desert town of Alice Springs, to an American father and a Japanese mother. As a music hungry teenager in a small town with no record shop to fuel his cravings, save the local Kmart, Sean was forced to raid his father’s record collection. It was there that he discovered, and fell in love with early Rock n’ Roll, Country, and Blues. Eventually his family moved to America, to a suburb of Baltimore, where Sean was introduced to his first rock concerts, and the local punk scene. It wasn’t long before he picked up the guitar to front his own band. Sean spent years playing in various punk bands, all the while holding a deep and abiding love for surf, country, blues and early Rock n’ Roll. Upon the invitation of a friend, Sean went to visit Ireland. Having little money he was assured that he could finance his holiday by busking (street performing) on the gray streets of Dublin. The holiday became a way of life, honing his natural performing skills and sustaining him there over four years. While performing on the streets of Dublin, Sean met and formed Sean K. Preston and The Handsome Devils. The group played the streets, gigged at local pubs and eventually developed a growing fan base, leading them to better and bigger gigs in Dublin, Belfast and around the country.

After returning the the US, Preston began work on a self produced and released debut record entitled “Hoarse Whisper” and began touring the east coast. A few years later the self titled and professionally recorded 6 song EP "Sean K. Preston" was released as Sean continued to increase the distance and duration of his tours. He also formed his new touring band "Sean K. Preston & The Loaded Pistols". The full length album, "The Colt From Old Regret" was unofficially released in July of 2013 for sale at shows on his second coast to coast U.S. Tour.

2018 finds Sean K. Preston and the Loaded Pistols preparing for a summer 2018 release of his latest record on the RUSTY KNUCKLES MUSIC LABEL  & accompanying tours.

The music of Sean K. Preston draws heavily on the influences of the classic heartbroken sounds of Country & Western music from the 40’s through the 70’s, the honesty of the Blues by the likes of Robert Johnson and John Lee Hooker, the bombast of 50’s Rock’n’Roll, the lyrical sophistication of musical poets like Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan and Nick Cave, the raw energy of Punk and the spirituality of Mountain Gospel. His own songs range from delicate laments and lullabies to fiery sermons and confessions.
